Refraction

Parametric CNC Wall Pattern Façade

Refraction - The mesmerizing dance of light refracting through rippling water creates a dynamic and ever-changing pattern. As a 3D parametric pattern which can be infinitely randomized, This inspiring visual can be translated into a wall facade design, where the interplay of light and shadow evokes a sense of movement and fluidity.

Customization - The Refraction wall pattern facade can be fitted and customized to many different shapes colors and sizes, according to your needs. Several key factors determine the pricing for this parametric wall facade:

  • Dimensions - Length, Depth (out from wall), and Height. When over 8ft in total height, sections are made by combining two pieces together, and offsetting the seam location for adjacent pieces to decrease seam visibility.

  • Material Thickness - Standard sizes for Plywood are 1/2” (12mm) and 3/4” (18mm)

  • Gap Thickness - The gaps between the pieces determine the number of sheets of material needed. Greater gaps can lessen cost, but can also affect the resolution and clarity of the design.

  • Coloring - Various stains and painted tones are available for this piece.

Installation - Several options exist for the mounting of this piece to the wall. The best way to mount the wall facade can depend on the size of the fixture, and include the following:

  • Horizontal Brackets - clips, channels, and wooden support pieces can be used to align and mount the fixture to the wall. Horizontal pieces can often be left in a matching tone to the piece, or matched to the wall color behind the fixture.

  • Backer Board Panels - vertical sections can be mounted to flat sheet panels that easily install up against the wall surface.
