Miami, Fl Custom Parametric Conference Table
This piece was named Aquanemus - a Latin translation derived from a local species of mangrove trees that grow around the shores of the florida beaches. These partially submerged trees tremendously protect the shorelines from erosion while offering enormous benefits to the local ecosystems with the complex patterns and tunnels that their groves create.
This parametric CNC cut conference table was created for a private residence in the Miami beachfront area. Crafted from 225 pieces of 12mm thick Baltic Birch Plywood, it stands as a complex yet elegant centerpiece to a room dedicated to design and luxury.
This piece was finished with 1” thick glass with a lip that traces the offset outline of the table’s shape while allowing extra room on the center sides for more table surface area.
74 metal threaded rods make the table completely solid and incredibly strong, and a total of 1,803 spacer wooden dowels hide the structural parts of the piece. The end result was a table that gives the appearance of a lightweight organic art form with a brutal amount of strength hidden beneath the surface.
